Frequently Asked Questions

Is my consultation fee part of my payment?

Yes, it is! However please note that this only applies if you pay your deposit within 2 weeks from the date of consultation.

What is the payment process?

We require a 50% deposit upfront, which will be used to source materials for your gown.

25% of the balance is required a day before your second fitting. The final 25% is required a day before your third and final fitting.

How long will my order take?

It can take up to 6 months to create your couture gown, depending on the complexity of the design.

Bookings within this time frame are preferred. If orders are outside this time frame, an additional express fee will be charged.

The Butterfly Couture designer will sketch your dream gown in detail, listing all its components, fabrics and embellishments. Once the design and fabrics/embellishments are agreed upon, the designer takes exact measurements and makes all necessary notes to begin the first draft of your custom pattern. Fittings are booked at this stage, please note first fitting and collection date are set during this consultation.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes you can but take note of the following:

The deposit becomes a cancellation fee as fabrics have been purchased, patterns have been developed, and hours of design work have been made on your behalf.

However, if the cancellation request is received before the purchasing of fabrics we will refund you 25% of the initial deposit.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we do! Please note that delivery fees will be dependant on your location and will be included on your invoice.

I made a mistake on my measurements, what do I do?
If you made mistakes on your measurements or you experience weight changes that require reconstruction of your couture gown, you will incur additional charges. This also applies if you change your mind about the design itself.
What payment methods are available?

We only accept bank transfers.

What happens if I fail to pay my balance?

Failure to pay your balance means the gown remains the property of  Stitches d’Or. You have a 3-month window to fulfill your payment and collect your gown. If a payment is not made after the 3-month grace period, we reserve the right to sell the gown thereafter.
